SZA Taps Into Drew Barrymore’s Conscious

New breakout artist SZA just released her debut album CTRL, which is the new soundtrack to every girl’s life.
SZA’s new single tilted Drew Barrymore, is every girls self-conscious when trying to get over an ex. We all have been there, from feeling helpless, unworthy, and unattractive.
Throughout the single she goes into each phase of a breakup and the process of trying to move on.
Here is a breakdown of the lyrics:

Why is it so hard to accept the party is over?
{It is always hard to move on and except that the relationship is dead}
You came with your new friends
{We all go through that phase were we think we can be friends with our ex and hang out with their new girl. (THIS IS VERY DAMAGING DON’T it)}
And her mom jeans and her new Vans
{It always feels like the new girl is always stylish and pulls off looks you wished you could}
And she’s perfect and I hate it, oh so glad you made it
{Homegirl is it! And you can’t even be mad.}
I’m so glad you could come by
{Yet you still feel somewhat accomplished that he is still in your life even though it is killing you}
Somebody get the tacos, somebody spark the blunt
Let’s start the Narcos off at episode one
{Narcos is a show that takes place in the 1980s, This is the phase were you wish you and homie can go back to the very beginning of the relationship when everything was everything.}
Bring the gin, got the juice
Bring the sin, got that too
Whoa, just shut up, know you’re my favorite
{There is always going to be that one. No matter what you do you just can’t shake him. He has done the most damage to you yet, you constantly find yourself comparing him to the other fools you dealt with. And no matter what he always seems to be the greatest love you ever had.}
Am I…

Warm enough for ya outside baby, yeah
(Tell me that it’s warm enough here for ya)
Is it warm enough for ya inside me, me, me, me
Warm enough for ya outside baby, yeah
(Tell me that it’s warm enough here for ya)
Warm enough outside, inside me, me, me, me

{When I first heard the song I thought she was saying “Am I woman Enough for you?” In these situations, we always compare ourselves to the new girl. “Am I pretty enough, skinny, enough?” “Maybe if I was smarter or attended that big state university like she does he will want to be with me again.” And with that always remember you are you, and will probably never be her so stop comparing.}
I get so lonely, I forget what I’m worth
{During a break up we tend to entertain to anyone just to keep ourselves busy.}
We get so lonely, we pretend that this works
{ Nine times out of ten they have nothing to offer us but we still go with it because we are afraid to be alone.}
I’m so ashamed of myself think I need therapy-y-y-y
{The drunk texting, stalking his new girl social media and driving pass his place. And when it is all over we sit back in my thoughts thinking “Damn I am Crazy.”}
I’m sorry I’m not more attractive
{Questioning our beauty.}
I’m sorry I’m not more ladylike
{Questioning our personality.}
I’m sorry I don’t shave my legs at night
{Starting to think the smallest things we do is why he does not want the relationship anymore.}
I’m sorry I’m not your baby mama
{Hell you start thinking maybe he is with her because of the baby. And you question damn why couldn’t it be me. Than you tap back into your senses and thank god that isn’t you.}
I’m sorry you got karma comin’ to you
Collect and soak in it right
{Karma is a BITCH! Keep calm ladies and remember men always come back!}
Sorry, I just need to see you
{When you cannot move on and you begin to beg him to see you for all your worth.}
I’m sorry I’m so clingy I don’t mean to be a lot
{You just can’t let go.}
Do you really wanna love me down like you say you do?
{Does he really loves me, or just says it to keep me around?}
Give it to me like you say you do?
{Show me you love me like how you always say you do.}
‘Cause it’s hard enough you got to treat me like this
{Why do you treat me so wrong when I love you so bad.}
Lonely enough to let you treat me like this
{The feeling of being afraid that no one else will love you, so I am holding on to this dead weight.}
Do you really love me
{Do you?}
Or just wanna love me down, down, down, down?
{Do you just say that to get in my pants?}
