SZA Taps Into Drew Barrymore’s Conscious

New breakout artist SZA just released her debut album CTRL, which is the new soundtrack to every girl’s life.
SZA’s new single tilted Drew Barrymore, is every girls self-conscious when trying to get over an ex. We all have been there, from feeling helpless, unworthy, and unattractive.
Throughout the single she goes into each phase of a breakup and the process of trying to move on.
Here is a breakdown of the lyrics:

Why is it so hard to accept the party is over?
{It is always hard to move on and except that the relationship is dead}
You came with your new friends
{We all go through that phase were we think we can be friends with our ex and hang out with their new girl. (THIS IS VERY DAMAGING DON’T it)}
And her mom jeans and her new Vans
{It always feels like the new girl is always stylish and pulls off looks you wished you could}
And she’s perfect and I hate it, oh so glad you made it
{Homegirl is it! And you can’t even be mad.}
I’m so glad you could come by
{Yet you still feel somewhat accomplished that he is still in your life even though it is killing you}
Somebody get the tacos, somebody spark the blunt
Let’s start the Narcos off at episode one
{Narcos is a show that takes place in the 1980s, This is the phase were you wish you and homie can go back to the very beginning of the relationship when everything was everything.}
Bring the gin, got the juice
Bring the sin, got that too
Whoa, just shut up, know you’re my favorite
{There is always going to be that one. No matter what you do you just can’t shake him. He has done the most damage to you yet, you constantly find yourself comparing him to the other fools you dealt with. And no matter what he always seems to be the greatest love you ever had.}
Am I…

Warm enough for ya outside baby, yeah
(Tell me that it’s warm enough here for ya)
Is it warm enough for ya inside me, me, me, me
Warm enough for ya outside baby, yeah
(Tell me that it’s warm enough here for ya)
Warm enough outside, inside me, me, me, me

{When I first heard the song I thought she was saying “Am I woman Enough for you?” In these situations, we always compare ourselves to the new girl. “Am I pretty enough, skinny, enough?” “Maybe if I was smarter or attended that big state university like she does he will want to be with me again.” And with that always remember you are you, and will probably never be her so stop comparing.}
I get so lonely, I forget what I’m worth
{During a break up we tend to entertain to anyone just to keep ourselves busy.}
We get so lonely, we pretend that this works
{ Nine times out of ten they have nothing to offer us but we still go with it because we are afraid to be alone.}
I’m so ashamed of myself think I need therapy-y-y-y
{The drunk texting, stalking his new girl social media and driving pass his place. And when it is all over we sit back in my thoughts thinking “Damn I am Crazy.”}
I’m sorry I’m not more attractive
{Questioning our beauty.}
I’m sorry I’m not more ladylike
{Questioning our personality.}
I’m sorry I don’t shave my legs at night
{Starting to think the smallest things we do is why he does not want the relationship anymore.}
I’m sorry I’m not your baby mama
{Hell you start thinking maybe he is with her because of the baby. And you question damn why couldn’t it be me. Than you tap back into your senses and thank god that isn’t you.}
I’m sorry you got karma comin’ to you
Collect and soak in it right
{Karma is a BITCH! Keep calm ladies and remember men always come back!}
Sorry, I just need to see you
{When you cannot move on and you begin to beg him to see you for all your worth.}
I’m sorry I’m so clingy I don’t mean to be a lot
{You just can’t let go.}
Do you really wanna love me down like you say you do?
{Does he really loves me, or just says it to keep me around?}
Give it to me like you say you do?
{Show me you love me like how you always say you do.}
‘Cause it’s hard enough you got to treat me like this
{Why do you treat me so wrong when I love you so bad.}
Lonely enough to let you treat me like this
{The feeling of being afraid that no one else will love you, so I am holding on to this dead weight.}
Do you really love me
{Do you?}
Or just wanna love me down, down, down, down?
{Do you just say that to get in my pants?}

16 Steps to Happiness

Have you ever felt broken? It seems like you are trying your hardest to put the pieces back together but you cannot figure out which piece goes where or if it is time to start another puzzle? It feels as if your are in such a dark place that not even the light behind you eyes can see you through? We all have been there and back. Some are harder to climb out of. While others are there for a second and gone the next. I am not going to give you 16 steps to happiness because some steps are harder then others and some situations might not require steps but hurdles. The main goal is to keep pushing and stay positive. Never bottle things in, one day that cap will explode. It is good to cry and let out anger never see it as a weak move. Before today I  was in a deep hole, I found myself up at night thinking and crying trying to figure out my game plan to overcome my issues inside. Although the only plan I needed to follow was time. Time and with a little bit of patience is the cure to most the  laborious hardships. Be patience with yourself, be kind and loving. This situation is only a story to remind you in your near future about how strong you are and what has come to pass

Never forget most of our problems are not as hard as we make them but easier to solve if we use the light behind our eye as a guide.

Food and Concerts..?

Hello, everyone I know I have not written on my blog for a year but I’m back and I’m bad baby! I am back to kill with a vengeance. This vengeance is myself, my self-esteem and insecurities. I have let these things get in the way of my everyday life, schooling and my blog. I made this blog two years ago when I was not so sure about my writing yet confident enough to start. Somewhere between that time I have completely lost myself and who I wanted to become when I first started this blog. I let fear and my anxiety come and take over my whole being, as I am writing this right now I feel so at peace. I am so happy I have found myself, I have been in stuck in a dark tunnel with no light to see my way out.  February 2014 was my last post I can say that was around the time I went over the cliff. However, with this one sentence “All I see is 22 and bunch money spent on food and concerts” was my light! I am here and to shine.

It has been awhile and I am rusty so bare with me, I am so excited.

Love Fest 2014

Love Fest 2014
Friday, February 14, 2014 at the BankUnited Center musical artists Pleasure P, K Michelle, Meek Mill and Wale gave the crowd a Valentine’s Day performance they will never forget.

Pleasure P was the first artist on the line up to hit the stage, he performed classic “middle school hits” such as “I did you wrong” and “under.” He even surprised the crowd with old hits from Pretty Ricky “Your body” “Grind on me” and “Hotline.”
K Michelle hit the stage next with a couple songs from her recent album Rebellious Soul; the crowd expressed their love for Michelle with loud claps and cheers. K Michelle than left the audience with words of wisdom on relationships uttering “Don’t chase these niggas, replace these niggas.”
Meek Mill however did not have a great performance. Throughout his performance the sound system was not in his favor, after every song he would yell out to the sound man “yo! I can’t hear myself or the music how am I supposed to rock the crowd? These people paid good money to see Meek Mill I can’t give them crap!” Mill was stressed about his performance and you can tell he keep yelling at this band and the sound man yet, us in the audience did not understand what he was expressing we could hear both him and his music just fine.
Wale stole the show being the last performer. Although most of the crowd left after Meek Mill, Wale closed the show with a bang! Getting the crowd hyped with dance songs “clappers” and “no hands’’ Wale eventually could be seen running through the crowd and sharing joints with fans. This however was not end Wale surprised the crowd with old hits from his first mixtape More about Nothing; the crowd was filled of shocked and emotional faces when he performed “Breakup song.”

Beyonce- Blue

“Make it last forever” Beyonce never ceases to amaze me. With the success of her new self-titled album Beyonce, sales have surpassed the norm. At one point iTunes was frozen, yes Beyonce froze iTunes, which is not a surprised.

With all the amazing videos and songs that completed this album, the song and video Blue which is dedicated to Beyonce and Jay Z’s daughter Blue Ivy; has warmed my soul and made me excited for my future.

The video was filmed in Brazil, where you can see Beyonce dancing and interacting with natives. In the beginning of the video you see a small portion of Beyonce holding Blue Ivy as they walk along the beach and at the end you can see Blue and Beyonce talking and playing in which you can hear Blue trying to pronounce her mother’s name “Been-sy-ay,Been-sy-ay”.

Although the video is dedicated to Blue Ivy, it does not focus on her. Throughout the video you can see the Brazilian culture come alive. From young children dancing all over the streets and beaches, to women lined up in their carnival outfits getting ready for their performance. These scenes show that Brazilian people are not wealthy with money, cars and clothes, but they are still happy and excited about life. At the end of the day they have love, which is all we truly need. I believe that this is what Beyonce is trying to express to us as viewers.

The video is lovely and motivating; nonetheless the words in this song are so moving and striking. Beyonce continues to say “Hold on to me, hold on” “We gotta hold on, I gotta hold on” meaning she wants Blue to hold on and never leave her side. This is the most touching song I have ever heard, it only makes me long for true love and a child in the near future. It was refreshing to see someone so in love with their child and excited about their future together.

Art Basel Miami

Last weekend my dear friend Jada and I attended the Art Basel in Miami. The Art Basel is a celebration of art that takes place in Miami FL, in the first week of December, where artist from all around the world come together and present their work. Each year that I attend there is something new to rave about, but this year was different.

The Wynn Wood Walls got my attention from searching up hash tags on Instagram. After coming across a few photos of people posing by this unique flower wall I knew in my mind I had to make it there.

When we first arrived, I was too determined and focused on getting to the flower wall I did not realize all the great art galleries I was walking past. After taking numerous photos by the flower wall Jada and I decide to adventure off into the streets of Wynn Wood to see what all the other galleries had to offer and boy were we surprised.
